19 OCTOBER 2015: Benson is a big handsome beagle with an easy going personality. He has been a model foster dog. What more could you ask for?!
We think he came to us already house-trained because there has not been a single accident since he arrived here. He potties as soon as he goes out in the yard and comes back inside when we call him. OK, sometimes he tries to get away with staying outside longer, but only when the weather is nice, so you can't blame him for that. All I have to do is shake the milk bone box and he comes right in!
Benson gets along beautifully with our other 2 dogs. He likes to curl up next to us on the sofa at night. At 37 pounds he is a nice big lapdog. He is fun to walk on the leash. Other than barking at a few ducks, he was perfectly well behaved in the park. He is playful, happy and obedient. On bath day, Benson was the easiest dog to handle. The only thing you have to watch out for is that he will grab your shoes or socks if you leave them laying around. Fortunately it was easy to get these things away from him, and he gladly took a chew toy instead.
So if you want a fun but all around well-adjusted dog, consider Benson!
5 SEPTEMBER 2015: Benson is a 7-year-old neutered male beagle who is fully vetted and ready to go! He's friendly, low key, and gets along well with other dogs. Benson was a stray in Culpeper County, Virginia, and his history is unknown. Stay tuned as we get to know him better!
