I 've been adopted!

Gender: Male

Age: 1 ish

UPDATE: Baxter is housebroken - no accidents in the house at all. Crate trained, rides well in the car, walks well on a leash..will attempt to chase squirrels, birds and rabbits. He is kid tested (LOVES them) and curious about, but respectful of cats. He'll sniff at them but will not try to eat them. Baxter LOVEs other dogs, and is not afraid of big dogs - his best friends are Duke, a Golden, and Beamer, a Coonhound. His favorite playmate is his foster sister, Sassy - she's also beagle dachshund... Baxter is affectionate without being too kissy - he still has some puppy in him - he stole and shredded a roll of toilet paper all over the back yard...we're working on the basic obedience commands and he's getting there..

Baxter loves the other dogs in the house.   He knows the doggie door and has not had an accident in the house.  Baxter sleeps in a crate at night, he whines a bit but settles down.  he is not food aggressive, not aggressive in any way. He waits his turn for his food, unlike two of my resident four....  And he walks well on a leash.  When the other dogs go to the window to bark he doesn't tag along -doesn't bark a lot, has some separation issues but I think that's because he was dumped at the shelter and he's not quite recovered from that yet.  Loves to sit on your lap, loves to be held, and makes cute "puppy noises" even though he's not a puppy.likes to chew on toys - will take shoes but not chew them. Snores a little bit. Loves his rope toy.  Begs a bit at the table, but that can be trained out.

      Lori,

We can’t be sure of his origins…but he looks all beagle to me. He was adopted on Saturday.

  4. Hi Laura,

    Hey,
I am also interested in Baxter… Is he houstrained yet or will he still need help with that…

Ashley, the info on the site for Baxyer is the most current we have. And we would ask that you expect accidents from any beagle for the first few weeks regardless of house training status.

Hi. I am interested in Baxter. Not sure how to contact someone about that interest. We just lost our sweet beagle girl Millie after 15 wonderful years. Looking for another dog for my son (and myself). We have lots of land to run the dog and he would be inside most of the time (not chained up or in dog house).

      Lori,

Please go ahead and submit an adoption application from this website. Once we receive it, we will assign your application to a BREW rep. You can indicate your interest in Baxter on the app.
