Adoption Pending!

Annie is about 5 years old, weighs about 35 pounds and was a stray from Spotsylvania County, Virginia. She was adopted from the Spotsylvania shelter but returned 3 months later because the resident dog (a lab) was intimidating her and causing her stress. She gets along with older children, dogs and rabbits, but has never been with cats. She is said to be housetrained but may need a refresher course in a new home. She needs some work with leash walking as she pulls a bit when on a good sniff, but she does potty on lead.

  1. WE lost our Beagle Pebbles July 17, she was 15 years old. We have always had Beagles…we love them. My husband is not ready but I am and I am just trying to find out more info on Annie….I do not want an elderly Beagle. I want to be able to enjoy her for many years and I love females. Always had females. My first Beagle (Molly) died at 6 years if age due to cancer. Annie is so beautiful!!!!

Hi Maria – Thank you for your interest in Annie. She really is beautiful! We just got her, so we don’t know a lot about her personality yet. She will be at our next adoption day on Dec 9th (see our web site for details) and will, hopefully, either get adopted or go to a foster home. If you are interested in Annie, we need you to submit an application at You are certainly welcome to come meet her at the adoption day, but it is best if both you and your husband are ready to welcome a new beagle into your home. We understand everyone grieves differently when we lose our precious pups.
