Ace is a 6 year old beagle boy who came to BREW as an owner surrender when the owner was deployed. Ace is not just a pretty face. He's house trained, crate trained, mostly comes when called, gets along well with grumpy Leah (foster sister), and loves to be touching his people including sleeping in bed. He likes to be under the covers and will burrow until he gets to just the right spot. He makes a great foot warmer.
Ace barks when there is someone at the door, when the dog next door is out and wants to play with him, when the phone rings; he is very curious about everything. He's not above climbing on the furniture to get where he wants to go. Even so, it takes one or two corrections and he will usually stop the problem activity.
Like most beagles Ace is food driven; he will eat anything you are willing to give him at any time and anywhere. He will counter surf if given the opportunity. Ace loves to run around in the yard. He has gone over the fence (4 foot chain link) to visit the dog next door so will require lots of supervision. A Trackr or similar GPS on his collar would be a good idea
Ace is not good for an apartment or condo; he's good with other dogs and very affectionate and cuddly with people. We don't know about children; with his personality he's bound to be good with respectful teens and above. Younger children will depend on the children. He likes to play with tennis balls - he's stripped two while here and any puzzle toy that rewards with treats is a big hit.
